Do you want to reduce or eliminate lines and wrinkles? Botulinum Toxin injections are medical treatments that can help relax facial muscles and is commonly used to treat areas in the upper part of the face. These treatments can combat both fine lines and also deep wrinkles* including:
- Frown lines between the eyes
- Forehead lines
- Crows feet
- Migraine & Tension Headaches
As we age, over-active muscle movement gradually wears away the collagen and elastin in our skin, causing the skin to crease and wrinkles to appear. Line and wrinkle treatments relax these muscles, preventing the formation of wrinkles and smoothing out lines.
Line and wrinkle treatments have been used as cosmetic treatments since the late 1980’s, revolutionising the cosmetic industry due to its remarkable results combined with few risks and no recovery time. Wrinkle-relaxing injections have been used to treat millions of patients worldwide and is still the world’s most popular non-surgical cosmetic solution
At the practice we use FDA-approved brands. The treatment is performed using a micro-needle whereby minute amounts of Botulinum Toxin is injected into specific facial muscles leaving surrounding muscles to function as normal enabling normal facial expression. The injected muscles relax and reduce the formation of lines and wrinkles, resulting in a more youthful appearance.
This treatment is administered by professionals who have been fully trained in its use and takes approximately 10 – 30 minutes. A very tiny needle is used for the procedure – most patients say that the injections feel similar to a tiny pin prick. A topical anaesthetic may be applied to aid patient comfort. The effects can be seen from 48 hours and gradually improve over a 5 day period. The result is a fresher, younger-looking appearance which lasts 4 to 6 months. Patients are able to carry on with normal day to day life directly after the treatment.
